13: Media Announcement 30 Apr 2010

Today's ST carries the announcement of INCOME's $415.5 million bonus pay-out for its policy-holders (see below):

The news report also features a photo of INCOME CEO visiting a 79 year-old policy holder who happens to be an old friend and colleague of mine.

See a younger version of him in Post 10 below.

12: What a Pleasant Surprise!

As part of the 40th Anniversary of NTUC INCOME, I was awarded a Cash Bonus and a Hamper , having been and still is, a long-standing policy-holder of INCOME since 1971. What a pleasant surprise I got, when INCOME CEO and his management team visited my home to present the awards to me, which goes to prove that my investment in INCOME is well-founded.

11: My INCOME Insurance Policies

I believe in investing in INCOME Insurance Policies, be they Endowment, Protection, Capital-Plus, Growth or Investment Linked. Below are some of the INCOME Policies I purchased and which have matured - ie cashed out.
Many others are still in force.

10: We were Colleagues and Friends

Yes, indeed, we were colleagues and friends in the trade union movement:

9: NTUC Broadsheet

This is an old copy of the broadsheet centerfold of NTUC Newsletter publicising the event:

8: INCOME Summit Club President and Vice- Presidents

There we were, posing for a photo for the record: me as President flanked by my Vice- Presidents.

7: INCOME Summit Club Conference

As President of the INCOME Summit Club, it was my privilege to address the conference in 1976.

The following month, NTUC Newsletter had a report on the forum, and the picture below was featured:

6: Receiving Award from Dr Goh

In this photo, I was receiving a pewter plate, a plaque for the Top Producer of the year, from Dr Goh who was then Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NTUC INCOME and Patron of the INCOME Summit Club.

On the top right corner is Mr AT Shimpi, the then Actuary and General Manager of INCOME.

5: A Few Old Trophies

Lately, something prompted me to look for my old INCOME trophies. I remember being awarded pewter plates and medallions, but somehow they all seem to be lost.
But I managed to find five pewter cups, a bit worn out by more than 3 decades of neglect, and here they are:

Well, the pewter plates were not altogether lost - a digital copy of one of them is in Post 4 below: That's me holding my pewter plate in the centre of the photo :-) among the STU Income Organisers after an Award Ceremony.

4: My Union - STU (Top Producer in 1975)

This is a photo of the STU union leaders and INCOME Organisers - the Top Producers for 1975 at a Ceremony on INCOME Day.

3: Honoured to be in VIP Presence

As INCOME Summit Club President, I was given the privilege to make a speech at INCOME Summit Club Conference and honoured to receive awards at INCOME Day presented by Members of INCOME Development Organisation and its Patrons who were top Govenment ministers of the day.
In 1976, having been INCOME Summit Club President for 3 consecutive years, I was given the rare honour of being awarded a London Trip by NTUC INCOME.

2: Proud to be a Union Rep

As a member of INCOME Summit Club, I had occasion to report to NTUC leaders the progress of the INCOME Organisers of STU.

At that time, STU Income Organisers were the top producers among the various unions.

The photo shows me addressing the delegates at one of these meetings of the IDO (Income Development Organisation) in the 1970s.

1: INCOME Inaugural Year 1970

I joined NTUC INCOME as an Income Organiser representing STU (Singapore Teachers' Union) in its inaugural year 1970.
Our initial training was done by Mr AT Shimpi, its Actuary and General Manager.
Training was done in the NTUC Income HQ at the Singapore Conference Hall.
The photo was taken at the Istana in 1970 on INCOME Day which was celebrated at the Istana grounds.
I received the trophies as one of the top producers of the year as a representative of STU.
